At the beginning of the school year TUO organizes a party for freshmen. The event is called Keltanokkabileet. It gathers over 1200 students up on a field near Lemminkäisenkatu’s school house. There the freshmen are officially excepted to be a part of our school and student union. They have to swear an oath and listen to welcoming speeches before heading for fun around the city of Turku. After they have visited all of the checkpoints, there is an after party in a bar.
The event is open for old students as well, but they will have samo own activities while the fresmen circle around the city. Keltanokkabileet is a costume event, so remember to dress up to the theme.
The fall comes to an end with TUO’s annual celebration which is organized to celebrate the student union’s birthday. It is time to wear the finest clothes, suits, nicest heels and jewelries that can be found in your closet. The event traditionally starts with a cocktail party and continues with dinner, dancing and sophisticated fun. The evening ends at an after party, where those who didn’t realize that missing the celebration is a mistake, can still join the partying crowd. The party is held on December.
